At the end of the 1950s, Jairo Tavares de Araújo, the Adventist youth leader of the South American Division, still based in Uruguay, prepared a small manual on how to organize a pathfinder club to encourage the formation of new clubs. The propaganda of the South American Division led to the parallel development of Pathfinder clubs in parts of Brazil such as São Paulo, Santa Catarina, Rio de Janeiro and Rio Grande do Sul.
